Thadeus Carlyon

Undergraduate Student Researcher

Hi, my name is Thadeus Carlyon. I am a senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences with a minor in Biochemistry. I initially joined the Stern Lab through the University of Arizona Step-Up summer program, which supports students in gaining hands-on research experience. I've continued in the Stern Lab to pursue my research focused on obesity associated hepatocellular carcinoma. I will graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Spring 2025 and will begin medical school in Fall 2025.

I am originally from Show Low, Arizona, and I transferred to the University of Arizona after playing Junior College baseball for two years. My transition from athletics to academics has greatly influenced my interests in both research and medicine. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, paddleboarding, and almost anything else outdoors or active.
